CVC Heart Center Welcomes Dr. Amr Salama Dr. Salama is a graduate of Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. After completing his medical degree as a distinguished graduate, he relocated to Rochester, New York, where he completed his residency in internal medicine and served as Chief Medical Resident. He then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease, during which he was also selected as Chief Fellow. Following this, Dr. Salama underwent several years of advanced training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There, he completed both a fellowship in interventional cardiology and a formal fellowship in advanced interventional and structural heart disease. His training encompassed the most advanced techniques in interventional cardiology, including chronic total occlusion intervention, emergency interventions, and acute myocardial infarction treatment. In addition, his fellowship in advanced structural cardiology provided him with specialized expertise in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR), transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVR), and left atrial appendage occlusion with devices such as the Watchman. Beyond his clinical training, Dr. Salama has been actively engaged in professional societies and medical education. He served as the upstate FIT liaison for the New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), contributed educational content for the ACC Fellows in Training webpage, and authored or co-authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and case reports that were presented at both national and international cardiology conferences. For 46 years, CVC Heart Center has been an esteemed cardiovascular practice in Fresno, California.
